Nambucca Heads Highway Service Centre

Project Details

Year: 2015
Location: Nambucca Heads, NSW

The Nambucca Heads Highway Service Centre has been designed following consultation with the Nambucca Shire Council to promote community culture in addition to tourism and enjoyment of the local environment. Cadway were engaged initially as part of the design tender, winning the project in conjunction with the client’s submission. Development Application drawings were then completed further refining the design intent.

Interactive walls will be a feature within the regional area of the Highway Service Centre encouraging tourists to spend time in the region and developing a connection to the community’s cultural heritage while showcasing local industry. The centre will also serve as a feeder into a new residential subdivision currently under development.

Our innovative design draws on a striking and dramatic canopy form visible from the highway. The fun park offers physical activities for children to exercise and interact with play structures drawing upon indigenous totems in a comfortable shaded environment. The centre’s interior design seamlessly integrates retail and dining spaces while showcasing the tourist information and feature displays.
