Our People – Rebecca Winchurch

Introducing Rebecca Winchurch – our Project Manager for Water Services in Western Australia

Rebecca joined us last year and reckons 2026 is going to be a cracker! She’s keen to push boundaries, bring new talent into the team, and cement our reputation as the go-to crew for fast, reliable, containerised water treatment solutions across Australia.

Read on as she talks about her role, shares her dreams and gives us a sneak peek into her day-to-day work.

Welcome to the team, Rebecca! Tell us what attracted you to Enviropacific?

Thank you, I’m excited to be here! I’ve followed Enviropacific’s growth in the water treatment space for a while, and what really stood out was the company’s focus on delivering robust, fit-for-purpose treatment plants for complex industrial and mine-water challenges. I also like how Enviropacific has a strong reputation for delivering innovative environmental solutions and its commitment to sustainability.

Joining a specialist like Enviropacific that actually designs, builds and operates its own plants felt like the perfect next step. The WA team’s reputation for getting things done and the pipeline of upcoming projects sealed the deal for me.

Could you tell us a little about your role and what your typical workday looks like?

I’m a Project Manager in the Water Treatment team based in Perth. A normal day usually kicks off early with workshop pre-start meetings, sorting out the inevitable curve balls,  whether it’s a pump that’s decided to go on holidays or a last-minute scope change from the client. Then it’s a mix of cost control, scheduling, client updates and coordinating with our design and workshop crews and plenty of coffee!

What recent project or achievement are you most proud of, and why?

Since joining Enviropacific, I’m most proud of completing the next batch build for the Austal ship contract, which involved delivering two 7KL-per-day reverse osmosis units. This achievement was significant, because it required precise coordination, strict adherence to quality standards, and meeting deadlines to support a critical maritime project. Successfully delivering these units not only demonstrated our technical capability but also reinforced our commitment to reliability and client satisfaction.

When it comes to safety on your projects, what’s one thing that’s non-negotiable?

Stop-work authority for every single person on site – no exceptions. If anyone sees something unsafe, they must stop the job, no questions asked and no repercussions. I’ve seen firsthand how empowering everyone to speak up saves lives and prevents serious injuries. Everything else can wait; safety can’t.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities you see in WA’s water management landscape right now?

WA is facing a perfect storm of challenges that actually create huge opportunities: climate variability, legacy contamination (especially PFAS), mining and resource-sector growth, and tighter regulatory limits on discharge, and the push for water recycling. The opportunity is to deploy robust, modular treatment technologies that can handle variable flows and contaminants while producing water fit for reuse or environmental release. If we get this right, WA can lead the country in sustainable water management for industry.

What do you look forward to achieving with the WA team in 2026?

2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for the WA Water team! I’m especially excited to see our Forrestfield workshop in full swing, with a manufacture schedule of 13 treatment containers in the first two quarters alone. That includes multiple brackish water and seawater reverse osmosis water treatment plants, ranging from 5 kL/day to 500 kL/day, chlorination containers, CIP containers, filtration containers and a pump station.

Getting all of those built, FAT-tested, delivered and commissioned safely and on schedule will be a huge milestone. Beyond that, I can’t wait to keep pushing our safety and quality standards higher, bring new talent into the team, and cement Enviropacific’s reputation as the go-to crew for fast, reliable, containerised water treatment solutions across Australia.

Bring on 2026, it’s going to be a cracker!
